Bangkok: The Cabinet has allocated a budget of 2,838 million baht from the 2025 central budget to support the Student Loan Fund (SLF) for educational loans. This budget will be used for students' tuition and living expenses for the first semester of the academic year 2025, with loans beginning in April 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, the deputy government spokeswoman, disclosed that the Cabinet's approval followed a proposal by the Ministry of Finance. The Budget Bureau confirmed that the Prime Minister has sanctioned the SLF to utilize these funds, ensuring the provision of educational loans.

The allocation aims to promote education by providing financial support to students while also stimulating debt repayment. This effort is expected to yield tangible results through adherence to legal procedures, regulations, and Cabinet resolutions. The initiative ensures that sufficient funds are available for SLF operations throughout the fiscal year 2025.
