Cabinet Approves Draft Regulation on Additional Special Cases

Bangkok: The Cabinet has approved the draft ministerial regulation specifying additional special cases according to the Special Case Investigation Act (No. ..) B.E. ..

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, deputy government spokeswoman, revealed that the Cabinet considered and approved the principle of the draft ministerial regulation specifying additional special cases under the law on special case investigation (No. ..) B.E. .. as proposed by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ). The amendment focuses on identifying criminal cases with certain characteristics under Section 21 (1) as additional special cases, which include offenses under the law on digital asset business operations, futures contracts, and measures to prevent and suppress technology crimes.

The deputy government spokesperson stated that the principle of the draft ministerial regulation is aimed at preventing, suppressing, and investigating crimes that are complex or could severely impact the peace, order, good morals of the public, and national security. The need for the regulation arises to ensure timely management of such offenses, aligning with the present societal context and conditions.

The Cabinet’s approval in principle highlights the importance of adapting legal measures to effectively address emerging challenges in criminal activities.
