Cabinet Approves Extension of Green Flag Affordable Price Plus Project

Bangkok: The Cabinet has given the green light to prolong the duration of the Green Flag Affordable Price Plus project, which is focused on reducing living costs for the public. This decision aims to mitigate the economic impact caused by unrest in the Middle East.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Cabinet has agreed to extend the Ministry of Commerce's measures and projects under the Impact Mitigation Project. This includes the Green Flag Affordable Price Plus Project and the People's Cost of Living Relief Project. The extension will run from May 2026 to May-September 2026, utilizing the already approved budget of 179.84 million baht. This budget will ensure the effective implementation of these projects, focusing on achieving objectives that benefit both the public and farmers.

Ms. Ploytalay further explained that the Green Flag Affordable Price Plus project is designed to provide farmers with affordable access to agricultural inputs across the nation. As planting season varies by region, with substantial fertilizer needs during July and August, the extension is timely. Concurrently, the cost-of-living relief project aims to facilitate access to essential consumer goods at reasonable prices, boost domestic spending, support small businesses, and stimulate the grassroots economy. This is in alignment with the Thai Help Thai Plus project, an economic initiative running from June to September 2026, aimed at maintaining purchasing power and supporting economic recovery. The extension from May 2026 to May-September 2026 ensures these objectives are met without altering the initially approved budget.
