Bangkok: The Cabinet has postponed its scheduled meeting to March 3, where significant issues, including the case of repatriating Uyghur Chinese to China, will be discussed. The Prime Minister is also preparing for his upcoming trip to Berlin, Germany, to promote tourism at the ITB Berlin 2025 event from March 4-8.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, the spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, announced the rescheduling of the Cabinet meeting from March 4 to March 3 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will address crucial topics, such as reviewing past Cabinet resolutions related to the school milk management system, approving a project to remove fishing boats for sustainable marine resource management, and seeking central budget support for the Royal Rainmaking Formula 3 project for fiscal year 2025. Additionally, discussions will include the allocation of funds for the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025 project.
The meeting is anticipated to cover the sensitive issue of sending Uighurs to Xinjiang Uighur Province, with reports expected from Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Pol. Lt. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, and Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Prime Minister’s Office spokesman also indicated that from March 4-8, 2025, the Prime Minister is scheduled to participate in discussions with Team Thailand to enhance tourism at ITB Berlin 2025. The event, held in Berlin, will see collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), aiming to showcase Thailand’s key tourist attractions and foster support from both public and private sectors for the Thai government’s tourism initiatives.
