Bangkok: Central Pattana Public Company Limited, in partnership with Mitsubishi Estate Public Company Limited, has announced a groundbreaking project named 'CenTRal cENtrAL' at Pathumwan Intersection. This ambitious undertaking, valued at 11 billion baht, aims to reinvent Siam Square as a 'Global Youth Culture Destination' and propel the nation's creative economy forward. The shopping center is slated to open in the second quarter of 2027.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chanawat Euwattanasakul, President and CEO of Central Pattana, emphasized the company's vision, shared with Mitsubishi, to elevate Siam Square into a global hub for youth culture. The project is designed to be an inclusive space where young individuals, creators, and entrepreneurs from around the world can congregate to live, work, and innovate together. This initiative aligns with Chulalongkorn University's vision for Siam Square to serve as a societal value creator. The development aims to transition Bangkok from a retail-centric space to a lifestyle hub, inspiring a new urban culture under the theme 'Young. Bold. Global.' The mixed-use project will feature cutting-edge retail, a future-proof workplace to attract global talent, and a 25hours Hotel, each uniquely designed to contribute to this vision.

Mr. Misanori Iwase, Senior Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Estate, expressed the company's honor in collaborating with Central Pattana. The CenTRal cENtrAL project embodies both companies' urban development philosophies, aiming to foster growth for people, businesses, and communities. Mr. Iwase noted Bangkok's strategic importance in Asia, with Siam Square acting as a central node of creative energy. Mitsubishi Estate plans to leverage its urban development expertise to add sustainable value to Bangkok, benefiting future generations.

Mr. Nattakit Tangpolsinthana, Chief Marketing Officer of Central Pattana, highlighted the need for a strong youth culture hub in Bangkok, akin to Harajuku in Japan or Shoreditch in London. The CenTRal cENtrAL project seeks to attract global young talent and affluent travelers, developing a social public space over 3,400 square meters. This area will be dedicated to youth co-creation, providing a venue for art, music, fashion, and more. It aims to connect with the Ratchaprasong and CentralWorld areas, enhancing Bangkok's network of vibrant districts.
