Chaiwut Criticizes Pita’s Apology over Military Remarks

Bangkok: Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, leader and prime ministerial candidate of the Rak Chart Party, has raised concerns over the sincerity of Pita Limjaroenrat's apology regarding his earlier comments about the military's role. Chaiwut suggested that Pita's remarks were a tactical move aimed at political gain and discrediting the military.

According to Thai News Agency, Chaiwut made these comments during an interview while campaigning for Bangkok Constituency 2 candidate, Chuti Pluemrungruang. Chaiwut emphasized that Pita's apology lacked genuine remorse, as evident from a video of his comments. Chaiwut questioned Pita's true beliefs about the military and whether his statements were merely a political strategy to undermine the army.

Chaiwut expressed his personal belief that Pita's apology video did not reflect his true sentiments. He advised Pita to avoid making excuses, warning that insincerity would lead to disbelief among the public. Chaiwut stated that if Pita intended to apologize, it should be done sincerely, without implicating other military units.
