Bangkok: Chalermchai Sri-on, former leader of the Democrat Party, has secretly resigned from the party, with plans to lead his group, “Chalermchai Friends,” to join the Kla Tham Party. This move aims to secure 20 MP seats and expand the party’s influence.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chalermchai submitted his resignation to the Election Commission on November 3rd. Following his departure, it is anticipated that several MPs from Prachuap Khiri Khan and the central region, associated with the “Friends of Chalermchai” group, will also leave the Democrat Party to join forces with Kla Tham, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao.
The group aims to play a significant role in Kla Tham’s growth strategy.
