Chao Phraya Express Boat Fares to Rise by 2 Baht from April 7

Bangkok: Chao Phraya Express Boat announced a 2 baht increase in fares for all types of boats, effective April 7. The company confirmed that it would reduce fares if fuel prices decreased.

According to Thai News Agency, Chao Phraya Express Boat Company Limited stated that the fare for all boats will rise by 2 baht, changing the fare range from 18-35 baht to 20-37 baht, starting Tuesday, April 7th. The company attributed this fare adjustment to a sharp increase in diesel fuel prices, which has significantly impacted their operating costs. Currently, the diesel price stands at 44.29 baht per liter, a factor the company considered when deciding on the fare increase.

The company reassured passengers that if there is a decrease in fuel prices, they are prepared to adjust the fares accordingly. This decision comes shortly after a previous fare increase of 2 baht on March 30th, reflecting the ongoing volatility in fuel costs and its effect on transportation pricing.
