Chatchart Embarks on Overnight Bangkok Tour to Promote 24-Hour Governance Concept

Bangkok: Chatchart, known for his "tough guy" persona, is making a last-minute push in his campaign by embarking on an overnight tour of Bangkok. This effort is part of his "24-hour governor" concept, aiming to showcase his dedication to governing the city at all hours.

According to Thai News Agency, Chatchart, candidate number 9, kicked off his tour from BTS Chong Nonsi station alongside his "Bangkok at Work" team. They traveled to Lumpini Park, then took the MRT to Sanam Chai station. From there, they utilized a bike-sharing service to explore the old city area, including notable places like Pak Khlong Talat and Sao Chingcha. This night tour was designed not just as a campaign activity but as an opportunity to observe and address the issues faced by various night workers, including vendors and medical personnel, emphasizing that a governor's responsibilities extend beyond regular working hours.

Chatchart has highlighted the importance of nighttime field visits as they provide a glimpse into the lives of those who work unconventional hours, such as night shift workers and city security personnel. This aligns with his "Safe City, 24-Hour Care" policy, which focuses on maintaining city safety through continuous systems like lighting, CCTV surveillance, and emergency medical centers. Bangkok has already replaced 115,000 light bulbs with LEDs, addressed streetlight issues, and plans further improvements in urban surveillance and emergency response systems.

The city plans to increase its CCTV network to 100,000 cameras and integrate private cameras for enhanced security. AI technology is being utilized to analyze risks and improve response times, with initiatives like the BKK Risk Map identifying and addressing dangerous areas. Emergency response systems are also being reinforced to ensure readiness day and night.

Chatchart's tour also highlighted essential services like garbage collection, which operate around the clock to maintain the city's cleanliness. The campaign included various live programs and fieldwork presentations, allowing public participation and feedback on city governance issues.

By incorporating these 24-hour activities, Chatchart seeks to demonstrate that managing Bangkok requires continuous effort, with a network of services working together to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents. The "Bangkok Tour" event continues until 5:00 PM today, and updates can be followed on social media platforms.
