Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand has certified Chatchart Sittipunt as the Governor of Bangkok and Parames Ngampicheth as the Mayor of Pattaya. This certification also extends to the members of the Bangkok City Council and Pattaya City Council.
According to Thai News Agency, the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) held a meeting on July 7th to approve the certification of the election results. Chatchart Sittipunt was elected as the Governor of Bangkok with 1,537,784 votes. The approval also includes the certification of election results for all 50 members of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council.
Additionally, Parames Ngampicheth was elected as the Mayor of Pattaya with 20,184 votes. The certification also applies to the election results for all six members of the Pattaya City Council. The Election Commission reported no complaints regarding the fairness or transparency of the election conducted on June 28th. However, it remains open to investigating any complaints or challenges to the election results following the certification announcement.
The Election Commission of Thailand is anticipated to allow those who have received official election results to collect their certificates starting tomorrow, July 8th.
