Bangkok: Team Chatchart unveiled the third piece of its artistic campaign under the concept of 'City as Canvas,' featuring 'When the City Blossoms' by artist Khemtit, which portrays Bangkok through images of people, green spaces, communities, and the hope for growth.
According to Thai News Agency, the artwork "When the City Blossoms" portrays Bangkok through two interconnected landscapes. One side depicts daily life amidst green spaces and communities, while the other represents hope and a burgeoning future unfolding through the eyes of diverse individuals-artists, students, musicians, entrepreneurs, and those contributing to making the city a more livable place.
Khemtit explained the concept behind his artwork as follows: When a city provides space for people to grow, hope grows alongside it. Just as flowers bloom in a garden, so too do people's dreams and opportunities blossom in the city. "For me, a good city is like a garden that gives people the opportunity to grow in their own way, and as people grow, the city flourishes together," Khemtit stated.
The artwork was displayed on LED screens at the Exchange Tower at Asoke intersection and Siam Walking Street in Siam Square from June 15-20, 2026. The art-based campaign of "Team Chatchart" stemmed from the idea of using the election period as a testing ground for creative city policies. This was achieved by inviting artists of various generations and styles to design artworks for LED billboards across Bangkok, transforming central city advertising spaces into temporary art spaces that citizens could encounter in their daily lives.
Furthermore, each artwork will be displayed for a short period, rotating to different locations around the city, allowing the public to see them in their daily lives. This limited-time display helps manage communication budgets efficiently while providing more opportunities for artists to showcase their work.
The third artwork, "When the City Blossoms," further reflects the "City as Canvas" concept, aiming to show Bangkok not just as a thoroughfare or advertising space, but as a city that provides opportunities for art, communities, and diverse individuals to grow together.
In addition to LED billboards, "Team Chatchart" also used other campaign media such as signs on minibuses, vinyl banners on buildings, markets, and community areas to reach people in their daily lives and distribute income to small businesses and various groups throughout the city. This campaign is therefore not just about making campaign signs look nicer, but about simulating the creative city policy that aims to open up Bangkok as a space for artists, designers, students, entrepreneurs, communities, and even ordinary citizens who live in the city every day.
