Chatchart Unveils Policy to Empower Bangkok’s Elderly Population

Bangkok: Mr. Chatchart Sittipunt, a candidate for the Bangkok governor position, visited the Yannawa district's Senior Citizens' School to promote policies aimed at empowering the elderly and transforming Bangkok into a city that cares for its aging population.

According to Thai News Agency, Chatchart presented a series of policies designed to address the anticipated increase in the population aged 60 and above. He emphasized the importance of not viewing senior citizens as a burden, but rather, as valuable contributors to the city's development. His policies aim to improve both the physical and mental well-being of the elderly, facilitate lifelong learning, and create employment opportunities.

Chatchart's plan includes developing comprehensive senior care centers, promoting income generation through the creation of over 10,000 community job opportunities, and enhancing public spaces for better accessibility. Additionally, he proposed a policy for medical consultations within one hour using technology and mobile services. His approach encourages community engagement and physical activity to combat depression among the elderly.
