Bangkok: Chatchart's approval rating soars to 57%, boosting his chances of becoming Bangkok Governor / Meanwhile, the People's Party still holds the top spot for Bangkok City Council members.
According to Thai News Agency, Suan Dusit Poll, conducted by Suan Dusit University, has released the results of a public opinion survey of eligible voters in Bangkok regarding "The 18th Bangkok Governor Election, Second Round." The survey was conducted among a sample of 1,179 people between May 19 and 22.
A survey on "The next Bangkok governor that people want" found that Mr. Chatchart Sittipunt received the highest popularity rating at 57.68 percent. The chairman of Suan Dusit Poll indicated that Mr. Chatchart's popularity remains leading and is expected to increase. Meanwhile, Mr. Chaiwat Sathavorawichit, the candidate from the People's Party, saw a slight decline in popularity compared to the previous survey. This poll reflects that, at 36.39 percent, Bangkok residents highly value the qualities of a governor who is experienced and ready to work immediately.
However, when asked about the election of Bangkok Metropolitan Council members, the sample group indicated that they would vote for candidates from the People's Party as the most popular choice, accounting for 35.20 percent. This shows that, in terms of local legislation, urban residents still value new-style politics that emphasize transparency and public participation.
Experts from Suan Dusit University further analyzed that this poll clearly indicates that Bangkok residents prioritize administrative efficiency over political trends, as they want to see tangible results in solving urban problems. Interestingly, 78.03% of the public believe Bangkok will improve after this election. However, a large number of people remain undecided, which means the voter base in Bangkok remains volatile and could change in the final stages of the campaign.
