Chiang Mai residents are excited to register for digital wallets.

Chiang Mai residents are excited to register for digital wallets via the government application. Many people are asking for help from registration points. For example, at the Tha Duea community market in San Phisuea sub-district, Mueang Chiang Mai district, locals helped download a government application and register to confirm their rights to receive digital money. In the morning, many people encountered problems registering to confirm their rights in the government application. There was an announcement of a new application update, which only had a login box to enter their user account and ID card number, but no way to register to create a new account. This caused many people to become confused and fill in incorrect information until their phones were screen-locked. At many fresh markets in Chiang Mai, vendors and Chiang Mai residents who travel to shop are talking about registering for digital wallets. Many people said that they downloaded the government app and registered to verify their identity, but when they tried to verify their rights, they could not. However, in the morning, they started to register as usual. While some villagers who did not know how to download the application and register via smartphone or did not want the hassle, traveled to ask for help at the walk-in registration points and inquired for information at 4 main locations: Community Digital Center, BAAC, Government Savings Bank, and Post Office. At the BAAC Chiang Mai branch, some people have asked for help in registering, but it is not very exciting because most people are more comfortable registering by themselves and the registration period is until September 15. Those who have come to ask for help say that it is convenient and that the officers provide fast service. They hope that the 10,000 baht in digital money will help improve their lives. In Khon Kaen, many people are excited and talking about this issue, but there are many misunderstandings, especially among the elderly, such as believing that people without smartphones can start registering today, seeing their names on the government app account, thinking that they have successfully registered to receive digital money, etc. Another problem that occurs with the elderly group is that they have smartphones but do not know how to download the government application and register. Some of them therefore went to ask for help from the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) and asked the officers to help them and were glad that they were successful in registering. This is considered money that the villagers have been waiting for for a long time. In Songkhla Province, people have been waiting for advice from the government agency since morning. Most of them are elderly people and people who are not yet proficient in using smartphones. Bank officers are waiting to give advice and fix it. For those who have problems verifying their identity by themselves and have not yet passed the Department of Provincial Administration, it is recommended that they verify their id entity in the 'Thai ID' application first and then come back to verify their identity in the 'Tang Rat' application again. Similarly, at the Government Savings Bank, Phuket branch, people have been continuously coming to seek advice on installing government applications. Most of them are elderly people who already have mobile phones but have problems with not knowing how to install and download applications. Some people have problems with their faces being scanned and have come to seek advice. People can register themselves in the government application from today until September 15. People without mobile phones can register with the Government Savings Bank from September 16 onwards. Source: Thai News Agency
