Chiang Mai Zoo Offers Free Entry and Animal Parades for Children’s Day

Chiang mai: Chiang Mai Zoo is set to launch a major two-day celebration for National Children's Day starting Saturday, Jan. 10, offering free admission and a festival of activities.

According to Thai News Agency, the event features a diverse wildlife parade and interactive game booths where young visitors can win prizes ranging from small trinkets to major household appliances. Young attendees will have the chance to see the zoo's most popular residents, including a black panther, a male lion, and a red panda.

The zoo has also arranged for close-encounter feeding sessions with its hippopotamuses and capybara family. To accommodate the expected crowds, officials have deployed additional sightseeing trailers, golf carts, and a dedicated food truck zone.

Beyond the animal exhibits, the zoo is encouraging families to visit the ancient Wat Ku Din Khao site within the grounds to pay respects to sacred Buddha images for New Year blessings. The initiative aims to provide an accessible educational experience for families during the annual national holiday.
