Chief of Naval Staff inspects first exercise

Royal Thai Navy Council, Chief of Naval Staff inspects the first Royal Barge Procession rehearsal Admiral Worawut Prueksarungruang, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Navy and Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Organizing the Royal Barge Procession on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2024, inspected the rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession on the route Wasukri Pier - Wat Arun Ratchawararam Pier. The format of the Royal Barge Procession this time will use a total of 52 royal barges, 1,280 meters long and 90 meters wide, with a total of 2,399 personnel on board. The rehearsal for the royal barge procession is organized in accordance with ancient royal traditions in all respects. The Vice Chairman of the Royal Barge Procession Subcommittee emphasized the need to inspect and record water currents, wind direction, and tide levels during each training session so that they can be used as data to estimate the strength and direction of water currents, as well as to practice emergency response plans for all situations that may arise, in order to ensure maximum readiness and safety. For this rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession, there will be 10 minor rehearsals of the Chao Phraya River boat procession and 2 major rehearsals to ensure orderliness and maximum safety at the royal ceremony scheduled for 27 October 2024.
