China Calls for Restraint in Cambodia-Thailand Border Conflict

Beijing: China has called on Cambodia and Thailand to exercise restraint and de-escalate tensions along their shared border. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun emphasized the importance of preventing further escalation of the conflict between the two nations.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Guo’s statements came in response to recent border conflicts that have heightened tensions between Cambodia and Thailand. He highlighted China’s position as a close friend and neighbor to both countries, expressing a sincere hope that the two sides can find a mutually agreeable resolution.

Mr. Guo further stated that China is committed to playing a constructive role in mitigating tensions and resolving conflicts in the region. He reaffirmed China’s willingness to assist in fostering dialogue and understanding between Cambodia and Thailand to ensure stability and peace along their border.
