China Launches First Industrial-Scale Humanoid Robot Manufacturing Base in Beijing

Beijing: China has launched its first industrial-scale humanoid robot manufacturing base in Beijing, accelerating the transition from labs to real-world production.

According to Thai News Agency, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center has officially launched a platform for manufacturing and testing humanoid robots, aiming to upgrade the industry from small-scale prototype production to full-scale industrial manufacturing. This marks Beijing's first pilot production base for such a facility.

Liu Yizhang, the project leader, revealed that the prototype production stage is a crucial turning point that will prove whether the robots developed in the lab can be mass-produced for practical use. Within the center, production standards are controlled at every stage, from assembling the torso, arms, and legs to rigorous performance and efficiency testing, such as continuously testing the durability of the robotic arm for two hours before actual assembly.

The Beijing Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center revealed that establishing production standards and performance testing is a solution to a challenge facing the Chinese robotics industry, moving it from a research-based model to a product ready for the global market. Currently, the center is equipped with over 500 sets of production and testing equipment, with the capacity to produce up to 5,000 humanoid robots per year.
