Chinese National Confesses to Gruesome Murder in Pattaya

Pattaya: A Chinese man has confessed to the brutal murder of an LGBTQ+ woman in Pattaya, following a rejected sexual advance. He admitted to killing her in a fit of rage and later mutilating the body, expressing a desire to “play and tease the corpse.”

According to Thai News Agency, the incident involved Mr. Tongyuan Fu, who violently attacked and killed Mr. Woranan, an LGBTQ+ woman, after a dispute over a payment for sexual services. The altercation took place in an apartment in the Pattaya Klang area, where Mr. Tongyuan later dismembered the body before attempting to flee the country. He was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport while trying to board a flight to Kunming, China.

The Pattaya City Police have taken Mr. Tongyuan to the Chonburi Police Forensic Science Division for DNA and tissue analysis to support the ongoing investigation. His arrest followed an issued warrant by the Pattaya Provincial Court. Upon his arrival at the Pattaya City Police Station, Mr. Tongyuan appeared with a serious demeanor and visible facial scratches, likely from the altercation.

Through an interpreter, Mr. Tongyuan detailed his encounter with the victim, which began at Pattaya Beach on April 25, 2015. He claimed not to know the victim was an LGBTQ+ woman and agreed to a payment of 8,000 baht for sexual services. However, when the victim refused to proceed, a violent argument ensued, leading to the fatal attack. Mr. Tongyuan recounted strangling the victim after being kicked off the bed, then mutilating the body post-mortem.

He confessed to using scissors to remove the victim’s breasts and heart, though he denied tampering with the lungs. After the gruesome act, he cleaned the scene before attempting to escape Thailand. When questioned about his motive, Mr. Tongyuan claimed a loss of control due to anger and expressed remorse towards the victim’s family. He denied any mental illness, stating he had never consulted a doctor.

Mr. Tongyuan, who works as a welder in China, explained that he had visited Thailand multiple times and appreciated the country for its safety. He justified purchasing the scissors used in the crime as a means of self-defense.

The police are awaiting forensic and autopsy results to confirm details about the missing organs, which will be critical in concluding the case.
