Pattaya: A Chinese tourist caused a violent disturbance at a popular nightclub in Pattaya, resulting in injuries to three security guards and one tourist after an altercation escalated.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident began when the tourist, who was part of a group, sexually harassed a woman at the nightclub. When the woman rejected their advances, the situation became violent. The tourist slapped the woman, prompting security guards to intervene. The situation quickly escalated as the tourist, along with his group, attacked the security personnel, resulting in three guards being stabbed and a foreign national sustaining a head injury.

CCTV footage captured the suspect, dressed in black and wearing a hoodie with a white mask, approaching a security guard outside the venue. The footage shows the suspect pulling down his mask, appearing to say something before grabbing the guard by the neck and stabbing him. Despite efforts by other guards to subdue the suspect, the violence continued. In the chaos that ensued, patrons fled the scene, and the suspect managed to escape before police arrived.

Pattaya City Police conducted an inspection of the scene, where they found the injured security guards: Mr. Wichit, 50, who was stabbed in the chest; Mr. Kiattiphan, 50, and Mr. Thitisak, 20, who suffered slashes to the thigh and upper arm, respectively. The injured were given first aid on site and then taken to a hospital for further treatment. The incident also left a 28-year-old tourist with a head injury.

A witness, who is also a security guard at the venue, recounted that during his duty, he noticed patrons arguing inside and attempted to defuse the situation. However, the Chinese national pursued and attacked him. The store manager reported that the perpetrators had been drinking heavily and became aggressive after being asked to leave the premises.

Ms. B, a 23-year-old victim, described the events, stating that while she was seated with friends, the group of Chinese nationals approached, engaged in conversation, and began harassing her friend. When the harassment was rebuffed, the situation turned violent, with verbal abuse and physical assault following. The bar's security staff intervened, leading to the subsequent stabbings.

The police are actively reviewing CCTV footage to identify and capture those responsible for the attack.
