“CHUD THAI” Campaign Illuminates Bangkok with Royal Thai Dress Promotion

Bangkok: "Royal Thai Dress" takes center stage across Bangkok as the Ministry of Culture collaborates with the private sector to put up billboards, boosting soft power before awaiting UNESCO's World Heritage status at the end of 2026.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, Minister of Culture, is actively promoting the "CHUD THAI" campaign to elevate "Royal Thai Costume" to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage status. Collaborating with private sector partners like Plan B Media, the campaign utilizes billboard advertising across Bangkok to raise awareness and showcase Thai craftsmanship to the world. This project is implemented under the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, aiming to continue and expand the rich cultural heritage stemming from the royal endeavors of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.

The Ministry of Culture invites the public and all sectors to be a part of history before UNESCO considers the registration of Thai traditional clothing as a World Heritage Site at the end of 2026. This can be done by wearing Thai traditional clothing or fabrics in daily life and communicating the value of Thai craftsmanship through social media. This will demonstrate support for the invaluable "Thai traditional clothing" and showcase it internationally, allowing everyone to witness this significant achievement for Thailand.
