Trang: Completed! Road No. Tong.4011 in Trang Province is ready for use, marking a significant improvement in the transportation network that links to key agricultural areas. This development is expected to drive local economic growth and enhance the capacity for sustainable transportation of goods and travel in Southern Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, highlighted the government's commitment, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, to advancing rural highway networks and upgrading transportation infrastructure. This initiative aims to bolster economic growth in the transportation, tourism, and daily travel sectors to comprehensively improve the quality of life in the southern region.
The government, through the Department of Rural Roads (DRR) under the Ministry of Transport, has adhered to the Prime Minister's policy and the directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn. They have expedited the construction of Rural Highway No. Tong.4011, which connects Highway No. 4159 to Ban Huai Hin in Wang Wiset District, Trang Province. The newly completed road is now open to the public, showcasing the government's proactive approach and effective monitoring of its infrastructure projects.
Rural Highway No. Tong.4011 extends from Highway No. 4159, traversing Khao Wiset Subdistrict and adjacent areas to Trang Province. It also functions as a crucial route for communities and essential agricultural areas like rubber and oil palm plantations, easing the transport of agricultural produce. This facilitation supports trade and investment, contributing to the stable economic development of Trang Province.
The project, with a total length of 2.450 kilometers, was executed in two phases. Phase 1 involved expanding the road surface from the original 9 meters to 12 meters and constructing asphalt concrete pavement with a width of 9 meters over a stretch of 2.120 kilometers. Phase 2 focused on constructing an asphalt concrete pavement with a width of 12-14 meters, which included excavation and construction of a new road structure over 0.330 kilometers. The project features traffic lanes 3.50 meters wide, shoulders 2.50 - 3.50 meters wide, and a reinforced concrete bridge between kilometer markers 7+915 and 7+940, measuring 25 meters in length with a 13-meter-wide road surface. Complete safety equipment, traffic signs, and road markings will be installed. The total budget allocated for this project is 24.990 million baht, as stated by Ms. Ploytalee.
