Bangkok: The Comptroller General’s Department has announced an updated welfare program for September 2025, which includes benefits related to merchandise purchases, cooking gas discounts, and public transportation allowances.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Thiwaporn Phasuk, Deputy Director-General and spokesperson for the department, outlined the benefits available to individuals utilizing their smart card national identification cards. Starting from September 1, 2025, these benefits will be provided on a non-cash basis and will not carry over to subsequent months. Individuals will have a purchase limit of 300 baht per month and a cooking gas discount of 80 baht per person for the months of July to September 2025. Additionally, a public transport travel allowance of 750 baht per month will be available for use on various forms of transportation, including buses, trains, BMTA, electric trains, and participating private buses.

From September 16 to 18, 2025, welfare payments will be distributed to low-income elderly individuals registered under the 2022 state welfare program. These payments will be made at a rate of 100 baht per month for a period of eight months, from February to September, and will be disbursed in three rounds based on the beneficiaries’ birth dates. The funds will be transferred to the specified bank accounts, linked either directly or via PromptPay using the individual’s 13-digit national ID number.

On September 19, 2025, an additional disability allowance of 200 baht per month will be provided to eligible disabled persons. This allowance supplements the existing disability allowance of 800 baht per month, with funds transferred to accounts linked to PromptPay or to the account of the eligible person or their authorized representative.
