Construction Building Collapses, 160 People Flee for Their Lives

Bangkok: A building under construction collapsed, injuring several people at the Min Buri water pumping station on Nimit Mai Road. At around 8:00 PM last night, Min Buri Police Station received a report of a building under construction collapsing at the Min Buri water pumping station of the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, Nimit Mai Soi 6, Nimit Mai Road, Min Buri Subdistrict, Min Buri District, Bangkok.

According to Thai News Agency, the supervisor confirmed that 160 workers were working at the scene, and confirmed that all 160 people had been evacuated from the building, with no one trapped inside. There were 13 injured people at the scene, and volunteers took them to nearby hospitals.

However, the officers from the disaster prevention and mitigation office inside the building went to inspect to make sure that there were no workers or people trapped inside and to find out the additional cause.

For the said project, construction is underway for a 70,000 cubic meter clear water storage tank at the Min Bu
ri water pumping station, construction of a water intake building, construction of a bridge connecting the clear water storage tank, and construction of a chlorine distribution building to the clear water storage tank. Construction will start from July 19, 2023 to September 5, 2025, a total of 780 days.
