Sisaket: Construction scaffolding at a police apartment building on Sri Wiset Road in Sisaket province collapsed, resulting in the deaths of two workers and critically injuring another. The incident occurred as three workers fell from the fifth floor amidst ongoing construction efforts.
According to Thai News Agency, the scaffolding structure was being constructed for a police apartment building when it gave way, leading to the tragic fall of Mr. Sangwan, 58; Mr. Nuay, 55; and Mr. Phitak, 50. Rescue teams promptly transported the injured workers to Sisaket Hospital. Unfortunately, Mr. Phitak and Mr. Sangwan succumbed to their injuries, while Mr. Nuay remains in critical condition.
A worker involved in the incident shared that while they were pouring concrete for the fifth floor beam, the structure collapsed. The task at hand involved repairing the formwork as the initial beam did not hold strong enough. The workers had to halt the concrete pouring process to fortify the formwork. During these repairs, the formwork and scaffolding unexpectedly fell, taking three workers with it. The worker narrowly avoided injury by grasping onto a section of formwork that had not yet collapsed.
