Bangkok: The Criminal Court has granted bail to Premchai Karnasuta and Kriangsak Kowatana, defendants in the Office of the Auditor General’s building collapse case, resulting in their release from prison.
According to Thai News Agency, the Criminal Court issued a temporary release order for Premchai, the 17th defendant, and Kriangsak, the 20th defendant, in the case concerning the collapse of the Office of the Auditor General building. The court reviewed the request and decided in favor of their release. Kriangsak was released from the Bangkok Remand Prison, while Premchai, who had been under medical care at the Corrections Department Hospital, was released last night.
At 11:14 PM, Mr. Kriangsak Kowatana, Senior Executive Vice President of Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited, exited the prison. Speaking to the media, Mr. Kriangsak expressed relief at being released and reiterated his belief in his innocence.
