Cross-Provincial Drug Trafficking Ring Busted with 94 Million Baht Worth of Methamphetamine

Bueng kan: A cross-provincial chase resulted in the seizure of crystal meth and methamphetamine pills worth 94 million baht. Police pursued and intercepted a drug trafficking ring smuggling drugs across provincial borders. Two suspects were apprehended, and a search of their vehicle revealed 83 kg of crystal methamphetamine (ice) and 220,000 methamphetamine pills, with a total value exceeding 94 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) intercepted a drug trafficking operation crossing provincial borders, pursuing a suspicious vehicle from Bueng Kan province to Nakhon Ratchasima. The two suspects, Mr. Nithi and Mr. Samroeng, were cornered on a road inside Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon campus. A search of the vehicle revealed 83 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (ice) hidden in three sacks, along with 220,000 methamphetamine pills, with a total value exceeding 94 million baht.

Initially, the suspects confessed to being hired to transport this batch of drugs from Bueng Kan to be delivered to an area in the central region, but they did not know the exact province. They were to receive 80,000 baht upon completion of the job. Police also found that both suspects had previous arrests for drug-related offenses, and Mr. Samroeng was also wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Uthai Thani Provincial Court.
