Bangkok: The overwhelming interest in the U.S. Department of Defense's leaked UAP/UFO files led to the dissemination of fabricated evidence about aliens and UFOs, completely unrelated to the information released by the U.S. government.
According to Thai News Agency, in early May 2026, suspicious videos circulated on Instagram and TikTok, claiming to be clips from the UFO Files released on May 8th by the U.S. Department of Defense. The first clip showed a glowing object resembling a flying saucer hovering near a helicopter, while the second showed an egg-shaped object moving rapidly in mid-air. However, fact-checkers abroad have not found that either of the two clips originated from UFO Files by the US government.
On May 10, a photograph of a star-shaped object floating in the sea was shared via X, allegedly part of the U.S. government's UFO Files. However, an investigation found no such image on the website war.gov/ufo/, and that these photographs were first published on April 9, 2026, almost a month before the U.S. Department of Defense released information about UAPs/UFOs to the public.
Similarly, a document posted on X on May 13th, claiming to be from the U.S. Department of War, contains evidence of the discovery of an Unidentified Humanoid, or human-like being, in 1994. However, the website war.gov/ufo/ does not report any documents shared online. Furthermore, it is highly probable that this document was created by AI, as evidenced by discrepancies such as the font being older than that used in official U.S. government documents in 1994.
Additionally, the U.S. Department of War was first established in 1789 but was renamed the Department of Defense in 1947. It wasn't until 2025 that U.S. President Donald Trump proposed reverting to the name "Department of War" as a nickname for the Department of Defense, but this wouldn't be an official name change, as such a change would require congressional approval. Therefore, the document claiming to be from the U.S. Department of War in 1994 is a fake, because there was no Department of War in 1994.
AI was used to create an image of the president meeting aliens. In addition, images of US President Donald Trump meeting with extraterrestrial guests have also been shared online. The first image shared on X in early June 2026 showed what appeared to be a candid photo of Donald Trump conversing with three tall, long-haired men, allegedly Pleiadians, who resembled ancient Scandinavians. The investigation revealed that the photograph was created by OpenAI's AI and contained numerous anomalies, including unusual lighting and shadows, and unnatural physical features.
This includes a photograph of Donald Trump walking alongside a humanoid alien, which has been confirmed to be an AI-generated image posted by Donald Trump himself via Truth Social. This post came shortly after the U.S. Department of Defense released UFO Files on the website war.gov/ufo/.
