Democrat Party Emphasizes Commitment in Rat Burana Campaign Visit

Bangkok: Anucha Burapachaisri, the Democrat Party's candidate for Bangkok Governor, visited the Rat Burana district alongside party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and other party leaders, reinforcing their commitment to the residents of Bangkok. They emphasized that electing a Democrat candidate as Bangkok Governor and City Council members will ensure a unified and seamless implementation of local policies that align with national priorities.

According to Thai News Agency, the campaign team initiated their visit at Soi Suk Sawat 26, a bustling area with shops and residences that reflect the grassroots economy. They also visited the "Sukhavej Chawanarom" health park, a project that illustrates the party's initiative in transforming vacant land into public parks, a policy started by a former deputy governor from the Democrat Party.

During the visit, Anucha addressed questions about corruption in Bangkok, referencing comments by Mr. Chatchart Sittipunt, another candidate for Bangkok Governor. Anucha acknowledged the issue and highlighted the Democrat Party's core policy of transparency. He proposed a data verification platform aimed at eradicating corruption and emphasized the importance of an internal audit culture to prevent practices like "bribes" and "tea money."

Anucha also commented on political opinion polls, stating that while they are a normal aspect of politics, the true outcome will be determined on election day. He expressed optimism, noting increased public support due to the party's longstanding integrity and commitment to the people of Bangkok.

Abhisit Vejjajiva echoed these sentiments, stressing the importance of addressing persistent issues like traffic, waste management, and economic challenges. He argued that a Democrat-led governance would ensure effective policy execution from local to national levels.

The campaign team continued their efforts by engaging with the community, visiting areas like the 400 Rooms community and Bang Pakok Market. Anucha interacted with vendors, emphasizing the need to support small-scale entrepreneurs and bolster Bangkok's economy, aiming to restore the city's image as a livable and hopeful place.
