Bangkok: The Democrat Party (DP) has announced Anucha Burapachaisri as its candidate for the Bangkok Governor position, emphasizing the potential for more than just governance with three key attributes highlighted by the party.
According to Thai News Agency, Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, introduced Anucha Burapachaisri as the party's candidate for Bangkok Governor and revealed candidates for all 50 Bangkok Metropolitan Council seats. Vejjajiva reiterated the party's commitment to teamwork in Bangkok, reflecting on past challenges in gaining public trust. He emphasized the party's readiness to drive the city's development, highlighting achievements such as their four consecutive terms in Bangkok and the introduction of the first-ever mass transit system for Thonburi residents. The party aims to transform Bangkok into a central hub for AI, stressing the necessity for a capable, honest, and experienced leader who can collaborate with all stakeholders. Burapachaisri was nominated for his extensive experience in addressing public issues, strong political reputation, and commitment to integrity, even amidst a polarized political landscape. Abhisit assured that Burapachaisri possesses the essential qualifications to aid both the Democrat Party and the city of Bangkok.
