Bangkok: The Administrative Court has issued an order for the suspension of Rungruang Thimabutr, the Deputy Governor of Phuket, pending a thorough investigation into allegations of bribery. This development comes after an arrest warrant was issued by the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 9, raising significant concerns over the integrity of local government operations.

According to Thai News Agency, the Department of Provincial Administration, led by Deputy Director-General and Acting Director-General Witthoon Sirinukul, signed an official order (No. 1899/2569) to temporarily suspend Mr. Thimabutr from duty. The suspension is linked to alleged criminal offenses, including soliciting and accepting bribes during an investigation of local government officials. The arrest warrant, dated June 26, 2569, calls for Mr. Thimabutr's apprehension due to suspicions of leveraging his position for personal gain through corrupt means.

The allegations against Mr. Thimabutr are severe, involving misconduct that could undermine public trust and affect the credibility of the Department of Provincial Administration and the Ministry of Interior. His actions are considered detrimental to the integrity required of his position as Deputy Governor. The complaint has been registered as criminal case number 8/2569 by the Anti-Corruption and Misconduct Suppression Division, Central Investigation Bureau.
