Deputy Governor of Surat Thani Convenes Urgent Meeting on P.C. Siam Oil Depot Case

Surat thani: The Deputy Governor of Surat Thani held an urgent meeting concerning the ongoing case involving the oil depot owned by P.C. Siam Petroleum Company. The Deputy Commander of the Surat Thani Provincial Police disclosed that company executives have been summoned for questioning on April 7.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting was convened this afternoon at the Surat Thani Provincial Hall to assess the progress of the oil depot case. It was chaired by Mr. Chakkrit Fangchonjit, the Deputy Governor of Surat Thani Province. The case gained significant attention after the Department of Energy Business instructed the Surat Thani Provincial Commerce Office to file a complaint against P.C. Siam Petroleum Co., Ltd. at the Surat Thani City Police Station.

Before the meeting commenced, Mr. Chumpot Wannachatsiri, Governor of Surat Thani Province, directly contacted the Deputy Governor, urging all participants to conduct their duties with honesty and clarity. In attendance, a representative of the Surat Thani Provincial Commerce Officer, Mr. Kob Tuankham, emphasized that the actions should be based strictly on factual evidence.

Pol. Col. Sirichai Suksaat, the Deputy Commander of the Surat Thani Provincial Police, informed the meeting that the executives of P.C. Siam Petroleum Co., Ltd. are expected to meet with the investigators tomorrow, April 7th, at the Surat Thani City Police Station.

The Deputy Governor, who led the meeting, affirmed that all proceedings adhered to legal procedures and regulations. The current phase involves the collection of facts and evidence, and the investigation remains in its early stages. It has not yet been classified as a special case but is focused on preliminary document and evidence gathering. The Provincial Commerce Office has already lodged a formal complaint.
