Deputy Minister Conducts Aerial Survey of Nan Floods

Nan: "Jaset" conducted an aerial survey of the flood situation in Nan before heading to Pua District to discuss post-flood recovery plans with the Ministry of Defence.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jetset Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of Interior, visited Nan Province on the morning of August 20, 2026. He took a helicopter to assess the flood situation from above, monitoring water levels and examining affected areas. Following the aerial survey, he traveled to Pua District to offer support to affected residents and monitor relief efforts closely.

Mr. Jetset instructed relevant agencies to prepare for the post-flood period, with a focus on the water supply system. This involves inspecting water treatment plants, pumping systems, and distribution networks urgently. He emphasized the importance of preparing personnel and equipment to ensure the swift restoration of clean water supply as soon as conditions allow. The availability of tap water will be crucial once the waters recede and residents begin returning home.

Currently, Mr. Jetset is en route to Wat Beng Sakat in Pua District, Nan Province, to meet with the Minister of Defence. The discussions will focus on coordinating efforts to address the flood situation, particularly in terms of deploying personnel, equipment, and resources necessary for efficient assistance and recovery in affected areas.

"The water hasn't receded yet, the mission isn't over. And when the water does recede, we must be ready for immediate recovery," Mr. Jetset stated, highlighting the importance of enabling citizens to safely and swiftly return to their normal lives.
