Nakhon Nayok:Intensive discussions on the criteria for establishing "foundations and associations" have led to calls for an urgent review of existing laws. The Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Polpeer Suwannachawi, emphasized the need to examine current regulations and the disclosure of asset declarations during a strict meeting involving key governmental departments.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting, which included the participation of the Land Department, focused on addressing problematic land issues in Nakhon Nayok. The discussions covered a range of topics including the responsibilities of the Ministry of Interior, particularly concerning the registration of foundations and associations and the related legal framework.

During the meeting, Mr. Suwannachawi highlighted the necessity to revise outdated laws to make them more stringent and comprehensive, thereby ensuring better protection of the public. He also pointed to the need for reviewing ministerial orders and other regulatory procedures.

Additionally, the Department of Provincial Administration, together with the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Land and officials, provided insights into the origins and registration procedures of some foundations. A significant portion of the discussion revolved around a land dispute in Nakhon Nayok Province, where public concerns have been raised about potential encroachment and activities on land potentially linked to the Department of Land. It was initially noted that the disputed land is state property allocated for military use. The findings from the discussions are set to be summarized and reported to the Prime Minister.
