Director-General Launches Door-to-Door Campaign for State Welfare Card Registration

Phetchaburi: The Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration is knocking on doors to expedite assistance for those who missed out on the state welfare card program.

According to Thai News Agency, the Director-General, Mr. Narucha Khosasilvilai, along with provincial administrative officials, are conducting a door-to-door registration campaign for the state welfare card for those who were previously omitted from the official registration list. Progress is at 71.44%, with over 1.7 million people outside the official list expressing their desire to receive the card.

Mr. Narucha, along with the department's executives, visited Nong Khe Village, Nong Prong Subdistrict, Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi Province, to monitor the progress of the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project. They were joined by the Deputy Governor of Phetchaburi Province, the District Chief, Deputy District Chiefs, village headmen, assistant village headmen, and the local doctor, who provided close assistance to the residents.

The Director-General revealed that the department has mobilized administrative personnel nationwide, including district officers, deputy district officers, sub-district heads, and village heads, to implement the government's policy of caring for low-income citizens. They are expediting the registration process for the State Welfare Card for the target group of over 1.04 million individuals who have never received the card, or the "missed list," whose information appears in the Ministry of Interior's Basic Needs Database and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security's Electronic Family Record Book. The department is also providing an opportunity for these missed individuals to request additional registration.

He has instructed all levels of administrative officials to pay attention to the hardships of the people, especially the elderly, people with disabilities, bedridden patients, and those with travel limitations. They should conduct proactive "door-to-door" visits to survey, verify eligibility, and facilitate registration at people's residences. This is to ensure that all eligible citizens receiving government welfare benefits have full access to their entitlements and that no one is left out of the welfare system. "Administrative officials must be a source of support for the people, especially vulnerable groups who lack access to government services. We must reach out to the people, not wait for them to come to us, so that everyone has equal opportunities and access to their rightful entitlements," Mr. Narucha stated.

The Bureau of Registration Administration reported the progress of the process as of June 11, 2026, at 11:59 PM. It found that of the 1,047,520 people without state welfare cards who were omitted from the official list, 748,329 had already registered, representing 71.44%. This leaves 299,191 people still needing to register. Meanwhile, the group outside the official list of omitted individuals who wish to register additionally based on the vulnerable group criteria and the Community Development Information System data, numbered 1,735,987. The Department of Provincial Administration will compile and send this data to the Ministry of Finance for verification of their eligibility according to the established criteria.
