Director’s Wife Attends Funeral of Delivery Rider, Pledges Compensation

Bangkok: The director's wife attended the funeral of a delivery rider on behalf of her husband, promising to provide compensation to the bereaved family as best as she could.

According to Thai News Agency, the wife of the school director was visibly emotional as she represented her husband at the funeral. She reiterated her commitment to offering compensation to the family of the deceased, Mr. Sornarin Nakongsri, contingent upon the completion of necessary paperwork at the police station. She also addressed rumors regarding her husband's promotion, stating that she was unaware due to stress and lack of sleep, leading to her absence from social media.

The funeral, held at Wat Thung Khru, saw the attendance of Mr. Jarong Kroemoh's wife and sister, who represented him due to safety concerns following an assault he experienced the previous day. Mr. Jarong, Director of Special Investigation at the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), was unable to attend in person due to injuries, including bruising and stitches, as reported by his doctor. The family prioritized his safety and sent his wife to represent him.

Mr. Jarong's wife assured attendees of her husband's intentions to visit daily and provide compensation, although specific details were withheld. The family plans to engage with police to appoint a neutral witness and file a report after the ceremony.

Addressing speculation about Mr. Jarong's alleged promotion, his wife admitted to being out of touch with recent developments due to the stress affecting the family, including sleepless nights. She expressed a desire to stay informed about the situation as she headed to the Buddhist chanting ceremony.

Additionally, a wreath from the National Anti-Corruption Commission was delivered to the family of Mr. Sornarin as a gesture of respect and condolence. Thung Khru Police Station officers were present to ensure security at the temple following the prior day's incident, closely monitoring the situation to prevent further disturbances.
