Disney Adventure Sets Sail on Maiden Voyage from Singapore

Singapore: Today marks a historic day for Disney cruise ships, as it marks the maiden voyage of the Disney Adventure, the largest cruise ship Disney has ever built, departing from Marina Bay Cruise Terminal in Singapore. The Disney Adventure is Disney's largest cruise ship, weighing 208,000 tons-almost half the size of the Wish Class, the newest ship on the fleet. It can accommodate up to 6,700 guests and over 2,500 staff.

According to Thai News Agency, the ship was originally built under the name Global Dream by Genting Hong Kong, which went bankrupt. Disney then purchased the ship, which was over 75% complete, and redesigned and decorated it entirely in a Disney style. The ship boasts seven magical zones, akin to a floating theme park, instead of the usual decked layouts found on most ships. These zones include the Disney Imagination Garden, Marvel Landing, San Fransokyo Street, Wayfinder Bay, Disney Discovery Reef, Town Square, and Toy Story Place.

The Disney Adventure offers a range of accommodations, from inside rooms to the luxurious Concierge Royal Suites, decorated in Frozen and Marvel themes. These cruise ships focus on the Asian market, with most itineraries lasting 3-4 nights, emphasizing onboard living to allow passengers to enjoy luxurious relaxation, exquisite cuisine, and 24-hour activities without having to disembark.

The ship set a record last February as the largest cruise ship ever to sail through the Panama Canal to Singapore.
