New york: 46 years ago today, Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand’s “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)” reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart. This achievement marked the first all-female collaboration in history to reach the top spot on the chart.
According to Thai News Agency, the song discusses a broken and painful relationship, emphasizing the acceptance that it is over, which evokes tears and the sentiment that enough is enough. This collaboration was celebrated as a duet that resonated with fans and achieved significant success.
Unfortunately, the pair never performed the song together live. Donna would often feature female vocalists like Tina Areana in her concerts, and Barbra didn’t sing the song until after Donna Summer died in 2012 of lung cancer, when she paid tribute and sang the song live. “I was shocked when I heard about Donna. When I met her a few months ago, she was so energetic and alive. I loved singing duets with her. She had such an amazing voice and talent. It’s so sad,” Barbra said in a tribute to her friend.
