Driver Smashes Car Window to Rescue Victims from Overturned Sedan on Mittraphap Road

Bangkok: Villagers in the Nai Mueang Subdistrict of Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, rushed to the aid of a driver and passenger trapped in an overturned sedan after it collided with construction barriers on Mittraphap Road. The incident unfolded when the driver, unable to see barriers placed for an underpass tunnel construction, crashed into them, causing the vehicle to flip over.

According to Thai News Agency, the dramatic rescue was captured on video, with a woman's voice urging bystanders to retrieve a hammer from a nearby shop. The villagers used the tool to smash the driver's side window, allowing rescue workers to access the car's interior. Both individuals were successfully extracted from the vehicle; the driver sustained minor injuries and was subsequently taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the sedan explained that he did not notice the barriers associated with the underpass tunnel project, leading to the unfortunate collision. The absence of traffic lights or adequate warnings near the construction site contributed to the accident, highlighting concerns about road safety measures in the area.
