Drunk Woman Drives Luxury Car Against Traffic for 5 Km, Crashes into 10 Cars, Causing Damage

Nonthaburi: A 37-year-old woman drove her luxury car while intoxicated, going in the wrong direction for over 5 kilometers and subsequently crashing into 10 vehicles. This reckless driving incident resulted in the injury of one person. Her blood alcohol concentration was measured at 205 milligrams percent, significantly above the legal limit. Among the damaged vehicles were two Porsches.

According to Thai News Agency, the accident took place on the night of September 30th. Officers from the Chaiyaphruek Police Station responded to the scene on outbound Ratchaphruek Road, in front of Sammakorn Place Mall in the Om Kret Subdistrict of Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province. The police were assisted by volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, who provided necessary aid at the accident site.

The collision occurred in the far right lane of Ratchaphruek Road. Five vehicles were directly involved in the crash, including a Porsche 911 Carrera and a Porsche Cayenne S, both bearing Bangkok license plates. The accident involved a rear-end collision. A white BMW, also with Bangkok plates, was discovered approximately 1 kilometer away on the bridge over Khlong Bang Bua Thong, its front end severely damaged from a head-on collision with a coconut-laden pickup truck. Mr. Chairat, a 38-year-old passenger in the pickup, sustained injuries. Additionally, a black Mitsubishi sedan suffered damage, and a sedan and taxi collided while trying to avoid the wrong-way BMW. In total, ten vehicles were damaged.

Upon questioning, the 37-year-old driver of the luxury sedan admitted to knowing she had collided with other cars, though her statements were incoherent, suggesting intoxication. She acknowledged having consumed alcohol before driving.

The police conducted a blood alcohol test at Chaiyaphruek Police Station, confirming a level of 205 milligrams percent, well over the permissible limit. Due to complaints of chest pain, the woman was taken to Kasemrad International Hospital for further medical evaluation. She faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing damage to another’s property.
