Ratchaburi: EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) and BMW have partnered to open the EleX by EGAT x BMW charging station at The Scenery Vintage Farm in Ratchaburi province, supporting seamless electric vehicle (EV) travel across Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, the EleX by EGAT x BMW charging station at The Scenery Vintage Farm, Ratchaburi, features two 125 kW DC Fast Charge stations. This initiative is part of a broader collaboration between EGAT and BMW, which includes previous installations at Market Village Hua Hin (Prachuap Khiri Khan), Midwinter Khao Yai (Nakhon Ratchasima), Porto Go Bang Pa-in (Ayutthaya), Porto Go Tha Chin (Samut Sakhon), One Nimman (Chiang Mai), and Porto de Phuket (Phuket). Additional stations are planned for The Sky Gallery Pattaya (Chonburi).
On this occasion, EGAT also donated firebreak construction materials and wildfire prevention equipment, such as oil-powered leaf blowers, fire beaters, and water sprayers, to a conservation group in Huai Phak community, Suan Phueng district, Ratchaburi province. This community is located near a charging station and the donation aims to help mitigate the impact of wildfires, which often occur in April each year, on the environment, wildlife, and the livelihoods of the wider community.
Ms. Nisara Thammapala, Director of the Energy Innovation Business Management Division at EGAT, stated that EGAT currently operates 472 EleX by EGAT charging stations and partner stations in the EleXA network nationwide. The organization aims to expand further to achieve greater nationwide coverage and support the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the future.
In the past, EGAT has collaborated with various agencies to support infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations, aiming to build confidence among users. This collaboration involves opening a charging station in Suan Phueng District, Ratchaburi Province, a popular tourist destination visited by a large number of tourists each year, especially during long holidays. The presence of electric vehicle charging stations in the area will further enhance public confidence in using electric vehicles.
