Nonthaburi: The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) is ushering in the New Year 2026 with a trio of initiatives aimed at fostering energy efficiency and supporting local tourism. These initiatives include discounts on energy-efficient products, reduced electric vehicle (EV) charging fees, and special offers on accommodations at EGAT-operated dams.
According to Thai News Agency, EGAT’s campaigns are part of a strategic effort to help Thai citizens conserve energy, reduce expenses, and stimulate the local economy. Mr. Narind Paovanich, Governor of EGAT, announced these initiatives at a press conference held at the EGAT Headquarters in Nonthaburi Province. The campaigns are designed to align with government policies and the Ministry of Energy’s directives by offering tangible benefits to the public during the festive season.
The first campaign offers daily discounts on Energy Efficiency Rating No. 5 products. Shoppers can avail of a 300 baht discount on purchases over 1,200 baht and a 1,000 baht discount on purchases over 5,000 baht, with a total of 30,000 discounts available. This promotion is valid from December 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026, and requires registration on the EGAT website.
The second initiative, the EleXA co-payment scheme, supports EV users with discount coupons worth up to 150 baht for charging at EleX by EGAT stations nationwide. A total of 30,000 coupons are available, claimable via the EleXA application until December 31, 2025.
The third campaign focuses on promoting tourism and supporting local economies by offering discount coupons for stays at eight EGAT-operated dam accommodations. Guests can enjoy discounts on beverages and community products, as well as enter a draw for further accommodation discounts. Additional offers include a significant discount for future stays at Baan Krin, Srinakarin Dam.
EGAT aims to contribute to sustainable practices and community support through these New Year initiatives, encouraging energy conservation and boosting local tourism. More details can be found on EGAT’s official Facebook page.
