Bangkok: Ekachai Srivichai, a renowned southern Thai singer, has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree in Digital Film and Creative Media from Ramkhamhaeng University. The accolade adds a new title to his name, Dr. Ekachai, which he proudly holds while expressing a desire to continue contributing to the academic community as a visiting lecturer.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Ekachai shared his excitement and honor at receiving the doctorate at the age of 63. This achievement comes 43 years after he earned his Bachelor of Political Science degree from the same university in 1983. While he welcomes the title, he prefers to keep his personal interactions informal, allowing people to call him by his first name. He emphasized that despite the new designation, he remains unchanged in his work and demeanor.

Dr. Ekachai expressed gratitude for the recognition, attributing it to his knowledge, abilities, and societal contributions. He plans to leverage his new role to collaborate with Ramkhamhaeng University as a guest lecturer. His aim is to share his extensive knowledge and experience with students, giving back to the institution that he cherishes as the cornerstone of his life and career.
