Bangkok: Mr. Ekanat Promphan, a candidate for Member of Parliament on the party-list system for the Bhumjaithai Party, emphasized the party's progressive conservative ideology, stating it understands the world and can effectively implement its ideas. Mr. Ekanat, who is also a campaign assistant in the Bangkok area, shared his decision to join the Bhumjaithai Party, noting he would not have done so 5-10 years ago. He credited the party's evolution into a more open political entity that welcomes professionals and consistently keeps its promises.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekanat acknowledged that the Bhumjaithai Party is often described as representing progressive neoconservatives, aiming to create a new form of conservatism. He mentioned that even his own family had differing opinions, but discussions led to the decision to align with Bhumjaithai. He reflected on the current political landscape, noting how it mirrors global trends of ideological divisions, ranging from socialism to liberalism and conservatism.

Mr. Ekanat expressed that the term 'conservative' is usually linked with being outdated, but he views modern conservatism as a practical approach to understanding and engaging with the world. He described the Bhumjaithai Party as having adapted to modern times, representing a right-wing conservative stance that he considers progressive.
