Ekniti Unveils Strategic Agenda for BAAC’s Future

Bangkok: Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, has outlined a strategic vision for the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) under the Bank Agenda 2026. In his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors for BAAC, Ekniti participated in a meeting where he provided policy guidelines aimed at transforming BAAC into a modern rural financial institution.

According to Thai News Agency, Ekniti emphasized the importance of BAAC in bolstering the Thai economy by focusing on the agricultural sector. The agenda is set to enhance the livelihoods and quality of life for farmers, thereby fortifying the bank's position. The strategy involves three key policy directions: development of the agricultural sector, leveraging technology to lower operational costs, and implementing Digital AI Transformation to improve efficiency.

Mr. Chatchai Sirilai, Manager of BAAC, also contributed to the discussion by communicating the bank's mission with the theme "Reshape strategy to Rebuild BAAC to be a great bank." He articulated policy guidelines and a five-year business plan for 2024-2028, ensuring that all executives and employees are aligned with the bank's vision of becoming a "Sustainable Rural Development Bank."

A panel discussion was also organized to foster idea exchange on advancing BAAC's mission for the 2026 fiscal year. The discussion focused on transitioning from core business activities to a balance sheet-driven approach, aiming to achieve the strategic goals outlined in the Bank Agenda 2026.
