Election Campaign and Referendum “Big Day” Promotes Voter Participation in Nonthaburi

Nonthaburi: A general election and referendum campaign, titled "Big Day," was held at the multipurpose area near the Nonthaburi pier in Nonthaburi Province. Mr. Narong Klanwarin, Chairman of the Election Commission, presided over the opening ceremony of the election campaign and public relations activities for the House of Representatives election and the referendum, urging citizens to exercise their right to vote on Sunday, February 8th.

According to Thai News Agency, the event featured demonstrations by key officials on how to cast ballots correctly. Mr. Narong Klanwarin illustrated the process for voting under the party-list system, while Mr. Chetha Mosikarat, Governor of Nonthaburi Province, showcased the procedure for the constituency system. Additionally, Mr. Apichai Aramsi, Deputy Governor of Nonthaburi Province and Chairman of the Election Commission for Constituency 1, demonstrated the referendum voting process.

The "Big Day" event aimed to promote the parliamentary elections and the referendum, with an emphasis on encouraging citizen participation, minimizing invalid ballots, and fostering political engagement across all sectors. The initiative emphasized the conduct of honest, fair, and legal elections under the theme "Building a Better Thailand: United in the Parliamentary Elections and Referendum." This effort was supported by the Election Commission of each constituency, election directors, government agency heads in Nonthaburi province, citizen networks, non-governmental organizations, village health volunteers, and students.
