Bangkok: The Election Commission is set to convene today to address the ongoing collusion case in the Senate elections. The meeting, scheduled for June 15, 2026, aims to discuss the case's progress and possibly release a document detailing developments to the public.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Parit Wacharasindhu, a list MP and deputy leader of the People's Party, expressed his concerns regarding the Election Commission's handling of the investigation. He emphasized that the seven members of the Election Commission bear responsibility for deciding whether the case will proceed to court. Mr. Parit warned that failing to refer the matter could lead to allegations of negligence against the Commission. He also questioned the Commission's decision to permit the use of voting slips at polling stations during the Senate elections.
In response, a query was directed to Mr. Saeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, who confirmed that the meeting would proceed as planned on June 15th. He indicated that a press release might be issued to update the media and the public on the case's progress.
