Kanchanaburi: The Election Commission of Kanchanaburi Province has prepared a venue for receiving election ballots for District 4 at the Lao Khwan District Office, along with launching a real-time vote tallying system.
According to Thai News Agency, at approximately 2:30 PM, the Kanchanaburi Election Commission office demonstrated a vote-counting system that combines votes from all polling stations and sends them to the district office for recording. These results are then double-checked before being sent to the polling center, with results updated every 10-15 minutes. This system will also be used in the next election. The EC Secretary-General stated that the system is designed to ensure accuracy and transparency, displaying votes that are accessible to the public, and ensuring accuracy through consistent calculations of ballots and votes.
The overall atmosphere today saw over 50% of voters turn out, including some polling stations where people with disabilities in wheelchairs came to exercise their right to vote. Polling stations had wheelchairs, police officers, and military cadet volunteers on hand to facilitate and assist the elderly and disabled who are unable to walk independently.
Meanwhile, Police Major General Pawasawee Ruengphu, Commander of the Kanchanaburi Provincial Police, stated that police have coordinated with the Election Commission of Kanchanaburi Province, deploying a mobile unit to monitor and prevent any violations of election law. The report found that no violations were found from the campaign period until voting day.
