Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has lodged a complaint against iLaw following the release of opinions concerning the Senate collusion case, aiming for an investigation into the facts.

According to Thai News Agency, the ECT's Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Krachit Charoeninth, filed the complaint with the Crime Suppression Division of the Central Investigation Bureau. The legal action targets iLaw for publishing a document that contained Mr. Krachit's opinion. This document was prepared while Mr. Krachit was acting on behalf of Mr. Saweang Boonmee, the Secretary-General of the Election Commission, in matters related to the Senate election collusion case.

The ECT emphasized that this notification process is essential for verifying facts through legal procedures. The commission aims to maintain public confidence in its performance by upholding principles such as accuracy, transparency, and legal compliance in their operations.
