Election Commission Refutes Inaccurate Reports on Pathum Thani Constituency 7 Vote Count

Pathum thani: The Election Commission of Thailand has addressed concerns regarding the accuracy of recent reports on the vote count in Pathum Thani Constituency 7, emphasizing that the results are consistent with their expectations.

According to Thai News Agency, the Election Commission of Thailand clarified that a recent social media post claiming a decisive victory for the People's Party in Pathum Thani Constituency 7 was inaccurate. The post suggested a landslide victory for the People's Party in both constituency and party-list seats, urging followers to wait for official results. However, the Commission stated that the recount results did not support these claims, and the initial highest scorer remains unchanged.

The Commission further explained inaccuracies in reports about overseas voting for Constituency 7. Ms. Sanga Tathong, the Election Director of Pathum Thani Province, addressed claims on social media regarding overseas ballots. Contrary to reports that only one overseas ballot was returned, she clarified that 308 voters were registered for overseas voting, and 279 ballots were returned in total, across two rounds. Supporting documents were provided to substantiate this clarification.
